THE SECRET TO HAPPINESS

THIS 98-YR-OLD WWII HERO HAD A HARD LIFE - FILLED WITH HAPPINESS. HOW?

EP. 3: Alex Polowin. A 98-year-old World War II veteran. A D-Day hero. And the last man standing amongst all of his shipmates. He's already lost so many friends and loved ones - including his beloved wife, son, and most recently his "brother" David Kilgour (a Nobel Peace Prize nominee). “From my lifelong friends, there’s no one left to call,” he tells me.

AND ALEX KEEPS GOING. HAPPILY. HOW?

Well, therein lies the secret to happiness. Plus, listen carefully for a couple of very special surprises in this episode. Pieces of history. Now, let’s get you to that secret to happiness, shall we?

P.S. There’s a picture of Alex at the very bottom of this page. Don’t look at it until AFTER you listen to the episode! Sure, you could look now. But you’ll see it completely differently - AFTER - you’ve listened to this episode. You’re still going to look now, aren’t you? It’s okay. I know after you listen, you’ll just have to look again. :)

Discussion about this podcast

DAHLIA
DAHLIA
DAHLIA is like Mister Rogers' Neighborhood - but for adults. This fun and meaningful podcast looks for the helpers and ways to help you through your day.
It may be conversations with everyday people doing extraordinary things, Oscar winners who have overcome the odds, or the man who jumped off The Golden Gate Bridge to take his life, yet miraculously lived to save so many lives. It may be giving a voice to those in need. But it’s always bringing people together.
You won't get inundated with information here. You already get too much of that. You need wonder and reflection. So expect lots of that.
