We first met at a comedy festival. Big-name comedian after big-name comedian took to the stage. And this little white-haired woman sitting in the audience kept stealing the show from each comedian.
So after the show, I had to approach this sly, little minx and invite her on my afternoon talk show. (I’m now a morning show host, elsewhere.) Now, I've had some fancy-dancy guests in my studio. But this trailblazer, oral historian, great-grandmother and potty mouth, is one of my all-time favs.
Most recently, at 99, her grandson shared a video of her dancing to the Super Bowl halftime show. She had the eyeballs of about 20 million people check out her moves. She’s even had the attention of Snoop Dogg, who called her a bad-ass bitch - and to this day, she wonders, how that was a compliment.
So in this special 4-minute episode, Granny Jean has some stellar life advice to share. And let’s all give Granny Jean birthday wishes for the best year yet. She is still going strong and just yesterday performed a stand-up routine at her residence.
